Breaking: Ohio State Gets Great News on Coveted Star Playmaker

Even with verbal commitments, nothing is guaranteed in college football recruiting. But one highly regarded 2026 receiver doesn’t sound like he’s wavering at all with his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

On3’s Chad Simmons reported five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. is “locked in” to the Buckeyes.

“At this time, Ohio State commit Chris Henry, Jr. does not plan to visit any other schools,” Simmons wrote. “We expect others to keep trying to get him on campus, specifically Oregon, but he is saying all the right things right now.”

According to 247 Sports, Henry is the top recruit currently committed to the Buckeyes in the 2026 class.

Henry is a top 30 prospect in 2026 based on the 247Sports rankings. According to the website’s composite rankings, Henry is the No. 11 overall prospect.

With Henry as the focal point, the Buckeyes are building a strong future receiving corps. Henry is one of four 2026 receivers who have given verbal commitments to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes also have four-star wideouts Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and Jaeden Ricketts, along with three-star receiver Brock Boyd committed in the class.

2024 Buckeyes star receiver Jeremiah Smith won’t be eligible for the NFL until the 2027 draft, so any receiver Ohio State adds in next year’s class could play with Smith as a freshman.

Henry and Dixon-Wyatt are currently star high school teammates at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California.
