Breaking: Coach | 2026 Notre Dame WR Target Kohen Brown One Of The Best

A rising star in the high school football ranks, **Kohen Brown**, a dynamic wide receiver in the Class of 2026, is quickly earning high praise from college programs across the country. But perhaps the most notable recognition yet has come from a **Notre Dame coach**, who boldly labeled the explosive pass catcher as “one of the best” WR prospects he’s seen in years.

As the Fighting Irish continue to build a dominant recruiting class for 2026, Brown has become a clear priority. Standing at 6-foot-1 with elite speed, sharp route-running, and remarkable hands, the Georgia native has already racked up offers from several Power Five schools. Yet it’s the interest from Notre Dame — and the praise from their coaching staff — that is turning heads.

“He’s got all the tools you want in a wide receiver,” said one **Notre Dame coach**, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to recruiting guidelines. “Kohen is explosive, tough, and disciplined. But more than that — he’s got the mindset. He competes. He wants to be great. I’d say he’s easily one of the best we’ve evaluated in this cycle.”

Brown has been equally impressive off the field, maintaining a 3.8 GPA and earning a reputation as a humble, team-first player. Coaches rave about his work ethic, leadership in the locker room, and his ability to elevate those around him. His performances on Friday nights have drawn scouts in droves, and his junior season highlight reel features jaw-dropping catches, yards-after-catch explosiveness, and the kind of field awareness typically seen in college veterans.

Notre Dame’s interest in Brown is part of a broader strategy by head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff to double down on speed and playmaking ability in the 2026 class. The Irish are looking to modernize their offense, adding explosive weapons who can stretch the field and change games in a single play — and Brown fits that mold perfectly.

Brown, for his part, has responded with enthusiasm to Notre Dame’s attention.

“It’s a blessing, man,” he said in a recent interview. “Notre Dame’s one of those historic programs. To hear what the coaches think of me and to know I’ve got a chance to maybe wear that gold helmet someday — it’s motivation to keep working.”

Though still early in the recruiting process, Notre Dame is believed to be among the top contenders for Brown’s commitment, along with Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State. A visit to South Bend is reportedly in the works for later this summer, and if the campus experience lives up to the growing relationship he’s built with the staff, the Irish could be in prime position to land one of 2026’s most coveted playmakers.
