John Force Still Dealing With Symptoms From Traumatic Brain Injury….

Legendary NHRA drag racer John Force continues to face the lingering effects of a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a condition that has significantly altered the course of his life and career. Although known for his fearless driving and enduring legacy on the track, Force now battles an invisible opponent that doesn’t give way to horsepower or speed.

The 75-year-old champion, who has long been a dominant figure in professional drag racing, suffered the traumatic injury during a racing incident several years ago. While he made a remarkable return to competition following initial recovery, Force has revealed that the aftermath of the injury has remained with him longer than anticipated.

According to sources close to the racing icon, Force still experiences recurring symptoms that interfere with his day-to-day life. These include headaches, dizziness, memory issues, and occasional disorientation — all common effects associated with TBI. While he continues to receive medical care and undergo therapy, progress has been gradual.

“Some days are better than others,” one family member shared. “John is strong, but this injury has taken a real toll. He pushes through it because that’s just who he is, but it’s not easy.”

Force himself has spoken candidly in recent interviews, acknowledging the challenges he still faces. In his trademark straightforward style, he expressed frustration but also determination.

“I’ve hit walls, I’ve flown through fire, and I always got back in the car,” he said. “But this… this is something I can’t just muscle through. It messes with your mind. You don’t know what’s real some days.”

The racing world has rallied around him, with fans and fellow drivers offering support. Many of his longtime competitors and teammates have noted the change in his demeanor since the injury, though they remain inspired by his resilience.

John Force Racing, the motorsports team he founded and built into a powerhouse, continues to operate under his guidance, though his role has shifted over time. While he remains involved, his medical condition has forced him to delegate more responsibilities. His daughter Brittany Force and son-in-law Robert Hight have taken on leadership positions, ensuring the legacy continues.

Medical professionals say that post-concussive symptoms like the ones Force is experiencing can persist for months or even years. The severity and duration vary widely, depending on the individual and the nature of the injury.

Despite the ongoing struggle, Force has made it clear that he’s not giving up. “I’ll keep fighting,” he said. “I may not be the same John Force I was before, but I’m still here — still in the game.”

For fans of the 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion, his perseverance in the face of adversity has only deepened their admiration. Though the roar of the engine may not drown out the impact of a traumatic brain injury, John Force’s spirit remains unshaken.
