Darlinstone Dubar, who previously played for Hofstra, decides to join the Tennessee basketball team.

Following the departure of four players to the transfer portal and three graduating seniors, Dubar becomes the initial offseason recruit to join the Tennessee team.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Following his commitment announcement on social media, Darlinstone Dubar, formerly of Hofstra University, has chosen to join the men’s basketball program at the University of Tennessee.

Dubar marks the first addition to the off-season roster through the transfer portal. During his senior year at Hofstra, he showcased his skills by starting in all 33 games, boasting an average of 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Beginning his college journey at Iowa State, the 6-foot-8, 211-pound player transitioned to Hofstra, where he flourished as a key scorer for three consecutive seasons after a limited role at his previous institution.

The departure of seniors Joshiah-Jordan James, Santiago Vescovi, and Dalton Knecht, coupled with the arrivals of Jonas Aidoo, Tobe Awaka, and redshirt freshmen guards Freddie Dilione V and D.J. Jefferson via the transfer portal, has sparked significant changes in the Tennessee men’s basketball lineup.

With five scholarships still available, Tennessee has secured one incoming signee, four-star guard Bishop Boswell. The focus remains on recruiting to shape the team for the upcoming season.
