Breaking: Ohio State commit makes bold statement about his decision to join the Buckeyes following the NFL draft

Ohio State Buckeyes showed out in the 2025 NFL Draft just like they were supposed to following their National Championship run.

The Buckeyes had 14 players drafted and fell just one short of tying the record of 15 players selected in one draft that Georgia holds. Ohio State once again sent a first-round pick to the NFL with Emeka Egbuka joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brian Hartline continues to churn out high-end wide receiver talent and there are no signs of the new offensive coordinator slowing down at doing that. Carnell Tate is next up and Jeremiah Smith is to follow in 2027. Ohio State continues to recruit at a high level at wide receiver and one 2026 commit took notice of the draft weekend for Ohio State.

“It gives me confidence in the choice that I made,” Four-star Southlake Carroll (TX) WR Brock Boyd said via Lettermen Row. “Wide Receiver U isn’t declining, they’re just getting started.”

The Buckeyes were able to flip Boyd’s commitment from TCU back on April 15. Boyd comes from the same high school that Quinn Ewers attended in Texas.

Ohio State has three wide receivers committed for the class of 2026. Chris Henry Jr. is the five-star for the group and Jaeden Ricketts is a four-star talent from Central Ohio. The Buckeyes currently have the No. 5 ranked class in the country for the class, per 247 Sports.

Hartline and the Buckeyes already have a five-star player committed for 2027 with Wayne (OH) WR Jamier Brown having made his verbal pledge. Hartline continues to get who he wants for the most part on the recruiting trail and players continue to come out as high-end draft picks. It goes hand in hand
