Junior Nsemba, one of Wigan Warriors’ brightest young stars, has opened up about the influence behind his rapid ascent in rugby league, crediting a senior teammate—whom he refers to as a “big brother”—for mentoring him both on and off the pitch.

“There was a point when I was still trying to find my feet—both physically and mentally—at this level,” Nsemba shared. “That’s when one of the senior players really stepped in and took me under his wing. He’s like a big brother to me now. He gave me advice, helped me stay focused, and pushed me to work harder every day.”
Although Nsemba did not reveal the name of the teammate, many believe he may be referring to someone like Willie Isa or another seasoned leader within the squad—players known for their professionalism and support of younger talent.

“I’m never satisfied,” he said. “I want to keep improving every game. Playing for Wigan means everything to me, and I just want to repay the trust the coaches and my teammates have shown. I owe a lot to the people around me, especially the ones who’ve believed in me from the start.”
