Just In: Penn State 4-star QB commit Troy Huhn lands Elite 11 Finals invite

Penn State football’s 2025 recruiting class continues to shine, as four-star quarterback commit Troy Huhn has officially received an invitation to the prestigious Elite 11 Finals—one of the nation’s top showcases for high school quarterbacks. The announcement marks a major milestone in Huhn’s young career and further solidifies his status as one of the premier signal-callers in his class.

Huhn, who committed to Penn State earlier this year, has steadily climbed the national rankings with his strong arm, poise under pressure, and exceptional football IQ. The Elite 11 Finals invite confirms what many scouts and analysts have already seen: he’s among the elite at his position and has the potential to lead a Power Five program to success at the highest level.

“This is a huge honor,” Huhn said following the announcement. “To be invited to the Elite 11 Finals is something I’ve worked toward for a long time. I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I’m excited to represent Penn State on this stage.”

The Elite 11 Finals, set to take place later this summer, bring together the top quarterback prospects from around the country for a multi-day competition featuring drills, 7-on-7 matchups, and classroom-style film breakdowns. Previous participants include current NFL stars such as C.J. Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Fields, making it a proven proving ground for future pros.

Huhn’s performance at the regional camp in Las Vegas was reportedly one of the strongest of the day. He impressed scouts with his footwork, timing, and leadership, standing out among a group of high-profile peers. His consistency in throwing across all levels of the field and command of offensive concepts helped him earn one of the final few spots for the Finals roster.

Penn State fans have already been buzzing about Huhn since his commitment, and this latest accolade only adds to the excitement around the Nittany Lions’ future at quarterback. At 6-foot-4 and just over 200 pounds, Huhn brings the physical tools and intangibles that coaching staffs covet.

“Troy is not only a talented quarterback, but he’s also an extremely mature and driven individual,” said one recruiting analyst. “Penn State got a good one, and this Elite 11 Finals invite is further proof.”

Huhn, who hails from California, said that even during the Elite 11 process, his focus remains on preparing to lead Penn State in the future. “I want to be the best version of myself for Penn State,” he said. “This invite is part of that journey.”

The Nittany Lions’ staff, led by head coach James Franklin and offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, have expressed confidence in Huhn’s potential to be a foundational piece of their offensive future.
