UNC Basketball’s latest schedule leak returns a familiar face to Chapel Hill
Another piece of the UNC basketball program’s non-conference schedule has been revealed, as a former Tar Heel (both player and coach) will make his return.

At this point in the offseason, it appears that we have information on every non-conference game that the UNC basketball program will play during the 2024-2025 season.
On Wednesday, Jon Rothstein reported that North Carolina is set to host American on November 15. This matchup will mark the return of former UNC basketball standout and coach Jackie Manuel, who is now an assistant coach for the Eagles.
Based on the information we currently have, this game will be the third non-conference game on the UNC basketball program’s schedule. Here’s what we currently know:
November 4: Elon
November 8: @ Kansas
November 15: American
November 22: @ Hawaii
November 25-27: Maui Invitational
December 3 or 4: ACC/SEC Challenge
December 14: LaSalle
December 17: Florida (Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte)
December 21: UCLA (CBS Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden)
The UNC basketball program will play a 20-game ACC schedule, hosting all three of the conference’s newcomers this season. In total, the Tar Heels are scheduled for 31 games, as the finalized schedule has not yet been released.
Hubert Davis hasn’t been afraid to take on a competitive non-conference slate, as he wants to prepare his team for the challenges of conference play. The Tar Heels will match up with some very good opponents during the 2024-2025 season, and early season victories could once again help the UNC basketball program when it comes time to create the bracket for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
