Social media reacts to Trevon Brazile’s return to Arkansas

John Calipari sought the return of Trevon Brazile to the Arkansas basketball program, and Brazile obliged him.

Brazile, a 6-foot-10 forward, will return to the Razorbacks for the 2024-25 season, it was announced Tuesday. He had initially declared for the draft and entered the transfer portal in April but removed his name from the draft less than a week ago.

Now that he’s back, Calipari, heading into his first season as Arkansas basketball coach after being hired away from Kentucky following Eric Musselman’s exit, has the Razorbacks roster more or less set. He still needs to bring in some players to fill the final few spots, but as far as scholarships go, the new coach has suggested he wanted nine. Brazile’s addition reaches that number.

Brazile has had a complicated two years at Arkansas since arriving from Missouri. A torn ACL ruined his first season in Fayetteville in December, and he struggled along with the team as the season went on in year two. However, a healthy, confident, and most importantly, appreciated Brazile is a beast.

At least the early returns show that Razorbacks Nation is appreciating his return. For now. Hopefully, they don’t turn on him again.

Here’s a sampling of the reactions from social media.

Arkansas made it official

Razorbacks Roster is Loaded

There are worse teams in the country, for sure. Arkansas needs more bodies to fill out a practice roster, but this is a core, right here.

Brazile is Considered a First-Round Talent

It was just over a year ago, before the ACL injury, that Trevon Brazile was being considered a potential first-round NBA draft pick.

John Calipari May Be Finished Adding

Should we expect open tryouts when school starts back up?

Brazile in a Calipari Offense

It’s hard to know what exactly Calipari has planned for Brazile, but a stretch-4 seems to fit him perfectly.

Returning from Injury

That’s a big thing, too. If Brazile’s confidence is back with his knee, watch out.

Portal Adjustments

Coleman Hawkins was strongly considering Arkansas, and Arkansas was strongly considering Coleman Hawkins. Feels like that’s done for.

Confidence is Key

There’s the kicker. Brazile was good early. Great early, even. Arkansas’ season and his downfall are like a chicken-and-egg scenario.

Arkansas’ Expectations

Fans, be careful not to put the cart in front of the horse, huh?

The basketball program itself broke the news, probably a good idea considering how much hate Brazile received—unnecessarily—from the fan base last season.
