Robert Saleh Bids Emotional Farewell to Jets, Expresses Gratitude Despite Dismissal

Robert Saleh Breaks Silence After Jets Dismissal, Expresses Heartfelt Gratitude

In his first public remarks since his departure as head coach of the New York Jets, Robert Saleh conveyed deep appreciation for the organization. Saleh, who was let go on Tuesday, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and commended the players and coaching staff for their dedication over the past four seasons.

Statement from Robert Saleh:

“To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be grateful for the love and support from everyone at 1 Jets Drive. To all of the players, I truly love and appreciate…

The Jets announced Saleh’s dismissal following a 23-17 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in London. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has stepped in as interim head coach.

Saleh’s sudden exit raised eyebrows among fans and analysts. During a press conference, Jets owner Woody Johnson mentioned he had “been considering this for a couple of years,” hinting that the decision was not made lightly. Yet, some argue that if the move was inevitable, it could have been made last season to allow a thorough coaching search.

Saleh’s tenure in New York, though marked by struggles, saw defensive improvements. Despite offensive woes, his leadership helped elevate the Jets’ defense from the league’s worst to one of its best, ranking 12th last year and 5th in points allowed this season. While his stint may be remembered as challenging, Saleh’s defensive expertise suggests he may soon return to the sidelines in a coordinator role.

With the team facing the Buffalo Bills on Monday, the Jets could still rise to the top of the AFC East. Nonetheless, the abrupt coaching change underscores an ongoing perception of organizational dysfunction within the Jets.
